We asked Rob Kenwright, another participant in our 2017 Development Scheme, to tell us about his career so far.
“I come from a sporting background with my Dad being the golf professional at Haydock Park Golf Club. I was involved in a number of school teams including badminton, hockey and golf. I completed a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy at Edge Hill University and achieved a 2:2 grade. I left university and became self-employed. I worked at Ashton United Football Club for 2 years as a Sports Therapist in the Northern Premier League from alongside the coaching team. This was an amazing opportunity to work within the sporting industry and I gained valuable life skills from this.
I have been with Maxi Haulage almost 2 years now. I started life at Maxi on the Scottish Operations team and I have never looked back. I am responsible for the physical transport and shipment of freight between various parts of the UK and Ireland. I manage key relationships with drivers, customers and suppliers. I liaise with customers and suppliers within the UK and Ireland to provide a smooth and efficient transition of goods, ensuring customer satisfaction remains high and all of their individual needs are addressed. I am focused on running a profitable business for Maxi Haulage and ensure that each load undertaken is profitable for the company, and that empty running is kept to a minimum. I am always looking to grow the business for the company and expand our list of suppliers and drivers and to maximise profits.”
